Water Quality:

  • Nitrogen cycle: Essential for converting harmful ammonia into less toxic nitrates
  • Water parameters:
    • pH: 6.5-7.5
    • Ammonia: 0 ppm
    • Nitrite: 0 ppm
    • Nitrate: <20 ppm
  • Water changes: 25-50% weekly
  • Water conditioner: Use to neutralize chlorine and chloramine

Feeding:

  • Diet: Carnivorous, high-quality betta pellets or flakes
  • Supplements: Frozen or freeze-dried bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia
  • Feeding schedule: Twice a day, small portions (as much as they can eat in 2-3 minutes)
